A prominent local protectionist and anti-Islamic immigration proponent has headed to the Islamic nation of Malaysia to undergo routine weight-loss surgery this week.

George Christensen arrived in Kuala Lumpur late last week to have 85 percent of his stomach removed in an effort to improve his general health and wellbeing.

The Queensland federal Nationals MP admitted that while the surgery is ‘fairly routine’ and ‘common’ and performed tens of thousands of times around regional Australia each year, the 38-year-old ultimately made the decision to spend his money overseas.

“It was a complex situation,” said Christensen.

“While I know I could’ve had the procedure done locally in my own electorate, something I would’ve championed just a few weeks ago, I found this really good company online who could do it for fuck all, so I had to go overseas,”

“You should see what bariatric surgeons charge in Australia. Especially regional Australia. It’s daylight robbery. How many BMWs does one man need? Anyway, it is was it is. If you don’t like it, run it straight.”

More to come.
